I know stuff has been happening, some of it even worthy of the blog, but for some reason when I sit down to type I blank out.
I'll try a little stream of consciousness and hope there isn't a dam:
I'm in Santa Barbara for "Carmen." I love Santa Barbara!
I go running on the beach when I can.

I realized that without proper running attire (I run in shorts and a giant fleece pullover) I look like Grimace jogging along the water with an iPod.
It's rained almost everyday. Big rain. Find-a-leak-you-didn't-know-you-had-in-your-truck rain.
Scores weren't prepared for stage management so we spent 3 days putting in cuts, adding inserts and dialogue, copying (incorrectly - we managed to cut out all the even numbered pages out of ACT IV) and recopying 395 pages of Bizet for us, the LD, supertitles and for a P.A. who decided not to ever show up.
Almost killed the office manager who, after we spent those 3 days copying scores, told us that had we just scanned one score, we could tell the copier to print from the scan...instead of hand feeding each page for each score each time. I did have a talk with her about timing, and her lack of it.
We fired our Carmen 2 days before staging started.
We hired a new Carmen 1 day before staging started.
We tore up our contract for the set rental for Carmen 1 day before I was to tape out the space.
We rented a new set.
I threw out all the minis I printed for the old set.
We tore up the contract for the new set.
We re-printed the contract for the original set.
I dug all of my old minis out of the recycling.
I frantically measured and taped out the space between coachings, dance sessions, and lunch.
We realized that the groundplans for the old set weren't quite accurate.
We had a beautiful staircase that only went up. Seriously.
But at least the new theater is pretty. See?

I'm sure there's more as we've yet to hit the end of week one, but for your sake, I'll stem the flow.

Beautiful theater! But it still doesn't quite make up for the hoops you've had to jump through...crazy. "...staircase that only went up." reminds me of an Escher drawing - hoping that things aren't quite THAT twisted!
Pretty indeed!! AWESOME!
